Located in the heart of West Plano Village, these luxury apartments are part of a 15-acre mixed-use, walkable development which includes offices, a movie theater, a high-end grocery and other retail, and restaurants.
The amenities and leasing office in the four-story building were designed to reflect an immersive, resort character. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, private poolside cabanas and a covered outdoor kitchen that is part of a larger cabana/club house. Inside, the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, resident business center, conference room, and java bar are designed and located to facilitate a seamless live/work/play environment.
The design of the amenities spaces was inspired by dappled light that streams through regionally prevalent live oak trees in the area. The Page-designed pattern began with a hand drawing of an oak tree. The image was transformed into the final graphic and cut into solid screen material that was shop finished and installed into a steel framework. These screens enclose individual spaces within the leasing office and layer to line walls and ceilings. The beautiful, organic pattern is also woven throughout the project in other wall graphics and signage. An overall palette of warm grey, espresso and plum creates a sophisticated, serene mood that begins in the Leasing office and is carried throughout the project.
West Plano Village Residences offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. The contemporary units feature gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and wood flooring, and spacious patios and balconies. The model unit which Page also staged serves an important dual purpose. Its artwork, which relates to that in the public spaces, provides a backdrop for the leasing and management team to tell the story of the development and allow future residents to imagine themselves living there.
In keeping with the client's sustainability goals, the project was designed to target LEED Gold Certification. Units were constructed with energy-efficient plumbing, appliances, electrical fixtures, HVAC and individual programmable thermostats. Outdoors, xeriscaping with drought-tolerant planting reduces water usage as do variable speed pool circulation systems and timers on fountains. Energy-efficient exterior lighting is also part of the client's efforts to reduce the impact on the environment.
