Union Market, located in Washington, DC is a historic site that had been a culinary scene and gathering spot for fresh food vendors for more than 200 years. The market had become quite rundown over the years and when developer Edens acquired the property it underwent a remarkable restoration with the goal of reviving the market and the area into a culinary venue once again.
The market re-opened in 2012 as an authentic, artisanal open-air marketplace featuring local vendors.
Working with Edens, Dyal and Partners (now Dyal Branding & Graphics, A Page Company), led the overall visioning for the project; developed the identity, monument signage and graphics; and designed pop-up food stalls for the large interior spaces.
The project successfully created a vibrant and contemporary experience and environment, while honoring and preserving the authenticity of the historic assets.
“Working with Dyal and Partners has been and continues to be a fantastic experience. Having completed many projects over the past five years, they are creative, responsive and best of all, great partners.”
