After spending 25 years at the same location, United Commercial Realty (UCR) decided to relocate its headquarters. Working closely with Page designers to test and evaluate many buildings, UCR moved into the top floor of building that was strategically located within UCR’s target geography.
UCR asked Page to design an office that reflects their desired “next generation” headquarters environment. The goal was to design “a new take on the collaborative real estate office – a place where people will be uplifted and excited to come to work”. In relocating to the new, one-floor, 21,000-square-foot office designed for 104 employees, UCR sought a work environment that would reflect its evolving brand, characterize the quality of its services, support collaborative work, and provide a sense of place for employees and clients alike.
Page created a timeless and elegant modern environment—featuring a reception area and gallery, perimeter private offices with glass fronts, low-height workstations along circulation paths, boardroom, conference rooms, impromptu meeting spaces, marketing work room, generous break area with large kitchen and wine cellar—that is simultaneously productive, inspiring and congenial. The new office is finely tailored in neutral tones with bright accent colors, with such enduring materials as wood, terrazzo, wool broadloom carpet, painted drywall and back painted glass, classic mid-20th-century Modern furniture, energy-conserving LED lighting and a world-class art collection.
