The University of Texas at San Antonio Campus Master Plan

San Antonio, TX

Project Description

The UTSA Campus Master Plan leverages its three campuses by capturing each location’s unique context and strengths into a larger strategic vision known as “One University, Multiple Campuses”. Page provided a guidance to expand enrollment growth from the current enrollment of 32,000 to 45,000 FTE, a path to access prestigious research funding sources, and a roadmap for partnership opportunities all as part of a highly collaborative effort to establish one collective UTSA.

This planning effort provided a comprehensive plan for growth of the University’s physical resources, outlined future development to advance the mission of UTSA, and provided resources for progress and innovation while respecting important elements of its history and organizational patterns as the University reached its 50th anniversary.

The UTSA master plan process included a rigorous analysis of programmatic growth, transportation networks, athletics facilities, and public-private partnership opportunities on the campuses. A robust stakeholder engagement process included outreach to the campus community through interviews, focus groups, and an interactive web-based survey. It also included community outreach sessions with various surrounding San Antonio neighborhoods.
