Page has assisted Kelsey-Seybold in both widening its reach into previously untapped neighborhoods and deepening its specialty expertise at its main campus with four very diverse clinic locations. Providing programming, master planning, medical planning, architecture, engineering and interior design services, Page has designed new construction and tenant improvement projects which, combined, will ultimately house 53 physicians, 182 exam rooms, 12 procedure rooms, 19 infusion bays, 21 specialty patient rooms, 19 imaging modalities, five labs, two retail pharmacies and two linear accelerator vaults.
Each of the clinics welcomes patients with a Kelsey-Seybold branded rotunda entry that efficiently channels patients into decentralized registration and waiting. Utilizing universal exam room concepts, each of the clinic locations groups 4-10 physicians with similar practices in pods that share staff stations and priority one support spaces. Patients and staff flow into the pods at opposite ends of the circulation, thus providing high staff efficiency throughout the entire clinic and non-stressful and consumer-oriented experience for the patients. All locations offer primary and specialty care as well as lab and imaging/D&T services.
A two-story retail space in Meyerland Plaza which formerly housed a Borders book store has been transformed into a neighborhood clinic for Kelsey-Seybold. Embracing the Kelsey-Seybold pod module concept, the design creates a flexible working model that provides clear way finding for staff and patients. The interior of the 72,000-square-foot clinic provides a patient experience that is both calming and professional. Patient waiting areas are furnished with comfortable hospitality seating and laptop counters. The street-level Pharmacy gives patients the added convenience of filling prescriptions onsite.
At Cinco Ranch, the clinic occupies an entire new retail plaza set deep within a neighborhood; the location allows primary and specialty healthcare services to be offered at the height of convenience at the residential level. Within the heart of downtown Houston, and connected to adjacent high-rises via four bridges and tunnels, this highly visible and pedestrian mall clinic at The Shops at Houston Center offers Kelsey-Seybold patients both primary and rotational specialty physician services, imaging, retail pharmacy, VIP services and travel medicine. Working with the existing fabric of the shopping center, the design provides a distinctive presence for the clinic.
An expansion to the Main Campus is adding over 45,000 square feet on four floors to an existing four-level building, expanding the building to over 315,000 square feet. By adding 19 infusion bays, PET and two linear accelerator vaults, Kelsey-Seybold is able to provide their patients a comprehensive on-campus cancer center and expand their existing cancer care program.
