College of William & Mary Integrated Science Center

Williamsburg, VA

Project Description

The new Integrated Science Center provides The College of William and Mary with the first two phases of a complex series of renovations and additions. Phase I provided a teaching and research addition to the existing Rogers Hall (c1971), while Phase II added over 165,000 square feet of new classrooms, labs, vivarium, and offices for the Psychology, Chemistry, and Biology Departments. These labs are supported by a 1,200-square-foot electron microscope suite with TEM/SEM instruments, a 1,000-square-foot NMR suite, and a 9,000-square-foot vivarium housing rodents, frogs, freshwater and marine invertebrates. Biology research includes marine science and population genetics. Page/SST Planners also provided the "Integrated Science Center Phase III Pre-Planning Study" for a new research and instructional facility planned by the college.
