Belo Center for New Media Donor Recognition

Austin, TX

Project Description

In 2012, The Belo Center for New Media became the newest addition to the Moody College of Communication at UT Austin. Dyal and Partners (now Dyal Branding & Graphics, A Page Company) was engaged by project architect Lawrence Group to develop environmental graphic design, wayfinding and signage for the exterior and interior as well as donor recognition elements for the five-story, 100,000-square-foot building.

The Belo Corporation is a storied Texas institution that started as a newspaper company in 1842 and founded Texas’ oldest newspaper. The team’s designs feature elements that pay tribute to the Belo Family and their legacy, while reinforcing timeless journalistic attributes. Additionally, we designed an exhibition in the building that honors alumni and staff who have received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize. All building identification and donor pieces echo hot metal composition racks and type.
