The design for the elementary school included 32 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms and also included administrative, dining, physical education, art, music, commons and special education areas. The building accommodates 720 students.
Design features include a face brick and stucco exterior veneer, borrowed light in classrooms, corridors and common spaces, colorful interior finish schemes and exterior sun control devices. The landscape effort focused on including native or naturalized, low water use, low maintenance plant materials. This energy efficient project has received a two star rating from the Austin Energy Green Building Program.
