Biography

Lou Krupnick is an architect with 35 years of experience in the design of energy efficient and sustainable scientific, technological, laboratory oriented projects for federal, academic and corporate clients. Well-experienced in both new construction and renovation, his portfolio includes numerous S&T projects supporting wet & dry laboratories for bio-medical research and health care, computational and electrical R&D engineering research, ‘think tanks’ and associated teaching, training and fabrication facilities. His work has also been recognized for expertise in the design of ‘collaborative work environments for business and industry’.

Lou is the seventh person in the United States to become certified as an ‘EDGE Expert’. EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is an innovation of the IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group and is a green building certification system designed to promote sustainable development in developing nations. EDGE is applicable to a variety of building types including housing, offices, schools, hotels, retail and hospital buildings, helping build more sustainable cities. It also makes green building and design accessible for middle- and low-income housing, particularly in high-growth, urban areas.
