When Walt Disney conceived the first multi-elemental theme park, he likely didn’t realize he also would be fostering future professional employee skills. Yet, Disneyland is where Lia Powell learned about teamwork, professionalism and delivering optimal customer experiences at the "The Happiest Place on Earth" during high school. Today, she relies on those skills as a Human Resources Generalist.
Her passion is building teams within organizations from the ground up, which aligns perfectly with Page’s growth mode. She has successfully built out key departments for technology, manufacturing and consumer product companies like Microsoft, Apple, Starbucks and Stryker.
Lia explains, “I love the hunt of finding the best talent in industries. This includes starting from scratch to identify a great candidate, engage them about a role, bring them to the hiring table, make an offer and close! That’s the best part of my job - changing people’s lives for the better.”
For her, the professional fulfillment she finds at Page rounds out her personal role as a mother. She and her family enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and biking, and also volunteer at animal rescue organizations.
Lia’s favorite life advice was uttered by Albert Schweitzer, who must have had insight into juggling the chase for job candidates, home life with children and the occasional animals when he said, "Eventually all things fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moments and know everything happens for a reason."
