Winner: Data Center Design Team of the Year
Page is proud to have been recognized as the Data Center Design Team of the Year by Datacenter Dynamics Global Awards.
The DCD Global Awards, which are often referred to as the 'Oscars' of the data center industry, include fifteen award categories determined by the judges. They attracted entrants from countries including India, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Spain, South Africa, Djibouti, Germany, United Arab Emirates, UK, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, Norway. Sweden, Italy, Netherlands, Finland, Estonia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and USA.
RagingWire Data Centers selected Page to collaborate on the design of its new 1 million sq ft TX-1 campus. While RagingWire has traditionally used in-house design and construction personnel to develop their data centers, this project involved a hybrid integrated project delivery model which worked at scale to improve design, quality and speed-to-market.
The project also is unique for including welcoming public-facing programming in the design, as mission critical facilities typically restrict access only to essential visitors. After passing through a secure entry reminiscent of a vault, guests are welcomed into a soaring lobby filled with daylight—an experience likened to walking into a cloud. Transparency and security are tightly intertwined throughout the building as critical infrastructure such as the data hall can be viewed via a sky bridge or from the main conference spaces.
DataCenter Dynamics created a video of the four finalists in the Design Team of the Year Award category. Take a look at the prestigious competition that Page faced:
Page Principal John Major, AIA elaborated afterward, "This award is very meaningful to us because it is an industry validation of our innovative process. Obviously it requires the right client and an adaptable design firm to succeed as we did, and we look forward to an opportunity to repeat this approach."
