Supporting Architectural Study Abroad
One metric of success is paying it forward to others, which is what Art Chavez, Page Senior Principal, is doing. He and Page created an endowment at his alma mater, the University of Houston (UH) Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design, to fund study abroad scholarships for Hines College students.
Art credits living in another country while young with having significant influence on the man he became. As a parent and professional mentor today, he encourages students to take advantage of study abroad opportunities.
“It is so gratifying when alumni reach the level of success that Art Chavez has and are able to enrich students’ experiences in perpetuity,” said dean of the Hines College, Patricia Oliver.
A proud graduate, Art has served as an adjunct professor at the Hines College. He was also inducted into the Architecture Alumni Hall of Fame.
