Save the Date: Gulf Coast Green 2015

Come celebrate 10 years of innovative green building education at Gulf Coast Green 2015, which will focus on Healthy Communities - Vitality in Placemaking. Join architects, landscape architects, urban planners, developers, building managers and all others who play a part in the future of our cities on Friday, March 27, 2015 in Houston to explore community development and the built environment. AIA Houston is planning an anniversary-edition event with enhanced attendee opportunities and top-notch speakers. For those who decide to stay for the weekend, the fourth-largest city in the US offers spectacular green spaces, a full spectrum of cultural arts and a top-rated dining scene.

• The Symposium will address urban design solutions including eco-districts, sustainable neighborhoods and housing, transportation solutions, active buildings, and the rebirth of true public space, which all stem from the work of architects, landscape architects, urban planners, developers, building managers and all others who play a part in the future of our cities.
• The 2015 Green Products Expo will feature the products and systems that bring cutting edge design ideas into the sustainable places where people live, work, learn and play.  This year, gain access to more great ideas with live mini- presentations from innovative manufacturers.
• The Student Competition is also going live! Aspiring designers from the top Gulf Coast schools will participate in a design charrette on site to reimagine public spaces in Houston and to generate ideas with the potential to transform the city.  

This year’s event is being put on by a dedicated group of volunteers from leading design firms and the City of Houston. Joanna Yaghooti of Page is chairing the effort with support from her Page colleagues.

This one-day forum at one of the nation’s most prominent mixed-use urban centers is your opportunity to dive deep into the most important green building topics today, while fulfilling AIA and TAS continuing education requirements and connecting with the architecture community in the Gulf Coast region. Registration opens in January 2015.
