SXSWedu Announces Learn By Design Finalists
The Health Learning Building (HLB) at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is a finalist in the first annual Learn By Design competition hosted by SXSWedu. As the educational component of the annual South By Southwest festival in Austin, SXSWEdu's new Learn By Design program is celebrating the design of learning spaces and how they have the potential to impact learning outcomes. The competition showcases projects in three distinct categories: conceptual, experiential and physical and encourages designers and educators to work together to discover design-based solutions to challenges within education.
Finalists will prepare five minute presentations for judges. The HLB presentation will be given by Page Senior Principal Larry Speck and Executive Vice Dean for Academics and Chair of Medical Education at The University of Texas Dell Medical School Sue Cox. Page designed the building in association with The S/L/A/M Collaborative. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 7 at the SXSWedu festival.
