Promoting Universal Accessibility

In an effort to raise awareness about universal accessibility, Page recently teamed with Turner Construction to participate in the Downtown Austin - Archer’s Challenge. The team joined Archer Hadley for a short discussion about accessibility and was then free to navigate its way through downtown Austin in manual wheelchairs. The immersive experience aims to celebrate and promote accessibility in public spaces.

“We wanted to show our support for accessibility initiatives benefiting everyone” notes Chad Johnson Page Associate Principal. The group spent three hours in the Second Street district and new Austin Central Library. Other participating Pagers included Jim Brady, Lon Calvert, Charlotte Friedley and Erin West.

“It was a great learning experience. I took note of everything from changes in paving textures, challenges at entryways, and difficulties maneuvering through tight spaces.” says Chad.
