Promoting Economic Growth in Africa
Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal reported that foreign and portfolio investments in Africa were expected to reach almost $75 billion this year. Page has worked on numerous projects across the continent, including several US embassies and related facilities and sees evidence of the growth in Africa.
Most recently, the Page-designed five-star Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, Ghana opened to the public. The hotel is part of the Gold Coast Master Plan, also developed by Page, which offers visitors high-end retail, high-rise residences, office spaces and a convention center across 86 acres.
These projects are representative of the type of growth the continent is experiencing as seen in the below video from CNN. Marwan Zakhem, Managing Director of Gold Coast City Resorts Ltd. which commissioned the Gold Coast Master Plan, is interviewed in a segment about Kempinski, which can be viewed at 3:27:
