Planning to Shape San Antonio's Future

A few weeks ago, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) landed on Times Higher Education’s top 100 list of the best young universities in the world. Now it has announced a landmark multicampus master plan to “further our ability to serve our students and solve society’s grandest challenges as San Antonio’s university for the world,” President Taylor Eighmy said. Page was named as the lead master planning consultant.

The firm approaches campus plans from a holistic perspective, examining social equity, resilience and community engagement and ensuring flexibility to accommodate cultural changes driven by technological advances. Page has previously worked with UTSA, and designed the university’s award-winning North Paseo building on its main campus.

Page also will provide project management, architecture, and landscape architecture for the master plan, which will include the main campus, downtown campus and Park West Complex. Work5hop will be supporting the architecture and planning tasks as our local partner. Facility Programming & Consulting is also part of the project team and will provide programming services while DLR Group will serve as athletics planner.

One of the firm’s recent campus master plans was also located in San Antonio. Page encouraged Trinity University to apply for historic designation to preserve and celebrate the rare midcentury modern campus. The request was just awarded.
