Partners for a Healthy City: A Sneak Peek at UT Austin’s New Medical School
An article in Medtech Boston highlights the impact UT Austin’s Dell Medical School hopes to have on their city.
Austin is eagerly preparing for the development of their new medical district and the benefits it will bring to their residents. The primary goal of the Dell Medical School is to enhance the health of the people of Austin through a community –based business model, encouraging participation from not only nurses and doctors, but from the community as a whole. They plan to provide a self-sustaining system through community partnerships and third party funders, a change from the traditional funding methods from their associated medical centers. UT Austin may be looking forward to a new medical district, but the entire city can look forward to the benefits of a whole new approach to healthcare.
