Page Welcomes...

A global thought leader in design for health and wellness, Lida Lewis, RID, ASID joins Page’s Washington D.C. office as Director of Commercial Interiors. One of the first WELL Accredited Professionals, WELL Faculty, and Fitwel Ambassadors, Lida will apply this unique expertise to enhance Page’s programming and interior design capabilities and ensure that interior spaces across practice areas are optimized to promote occupant wellbeing.

With two decades of experience, Lida’s passion for wellness is a natural progression in her longstanding commitment to sustainable design. An early advocate of sustainable design principles, Lida has pioneered their implementation, developed and codified standards, and actively participated in many sustainable design projects. During these projects, Lida responded to clients’ myriad concerns regarding feasibility, market sustainability, mandates for and barriers to sustainable design, and pursuing certification. She took steps to address these issues head on by participating in the development of WELL v1, v2, and Community rating systems and by responding to and advocating for the DC Green Building Code.

Lida has solidified her perspective that designs must benefit their occupants and fiscal health just as much as they respect the planet and its resources. She is fascinated with how individuals experience space and what design interventions help users thrive. She weaves medical and scientific research with insights from social psychology into designs that support users’ health, strengthen their resiliency, and enhance their creativity and performance. Lida is currently a part of the International WELL Building Institute’s (IWBI) global WELL Mind Concept Advisory, is a reviewer for WELL v2, is a part of the ASID Codes and Standards Committee, and she sits on the IWBI’s Covid-19 Task Force.

Lida joins Page at an unprecedented time in the firm’s 120-year history. Although she is working from home and we’ve yet to welcome her to our physical DC office, Lida’s expertise is already helping clients adapt to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic through tailored strategies that mitigate risk and position them for a healthier, more sustainable future. She was recently recognized by ASID as a national “One to Watch” and by ULI as a Health Leader, and she regularly delivers presentations on design for health and wellness domestically and internationally.

After hours, Lida has spent the lockdown updating her house, including redesigning her garden and embellishing her walls with graphic stencils in bold metallics.
