Page Welcomes...

Page is pleased to welcome Susan Millhouse to our team. With more than three decades in the landscape architecture and architecture industries, Susan is joining our San Francisco office as an Associate Principal and Business Development Director.

Throughout her career, Susan has sought to bring more nature into the built environment. She was a landscape architect and practiced for several years before transitioning into marketing professional services for design firms. After working for large architecture firms in New York City, she moved to San Francisco and has worked in a number of national and international architecture and landscape architecture firms directing business development, marketing and reputation enhancement activities.

Susan is well known in the Bay Area as an accomplished professional with proven leadership skills, strategic business development expertise, outstanding communications skills and a broad network of contacts and relationships.

Page Principal Barbara Maloney notes that Susan’s breadth of experience in the region will be an asset for the team. “Susan is focused, strategic and excellent in building client relationships,” says Barbara. “Her origins as a landscape architect give her a unique marketing perspective, grounded in design excellence, collaboration and execution.”

For Susan, her career has focused on promoting good design for clients and her teams. “It is all about the work,” she says. “Business development in the design world is most successful when you are engaging good clients and good work. The projects need to be interesting to our team, so I am thinking a lot about the people doing the work.”

Susan joins Page at a timely moment as the office is growing and recently expanded its space in the trendy Jackson Square neighborhood. She is motivated by the start-up atmosphere in the San Francisco office, which is backed by an international firm with a variety of resources.

“The leadership team, notably Barbara Maloney and Beth Foster, is well respected in the Bay Area,” says Susan. “I hope to help amplify that reputation and bring more awareness about the office’s expertise in planning, landscape architecture and architecture nationally.”
