Page Senior Principal Receives Community Honor
Page is proud of firm partner and Houston office Senior Principal, Arturo (Art) Chavez, for the honor he received last weekend from an organization that supports the Greater East End Management District in the central eastern part of Houston. The non-profit East End Foundation works to cultivate and nurture the recently designated Historical Cultural District that connects the community to education, arts and culture, the local economy and its heritage dating back to the Republic of Texas.
Art was honored at the annual fundraising gala for his advocacy on behalf of the Foundation and the time and talent he has donated to the community. He is the founder and served as Chairman for two years.
He remains very active in civic engagement and is a proud member of the American Leadership Forum’s Class XXXIX (39), which is a strong Houston leadership network dedicated to positive change that leverages his urban planning and design skills. ALF counts a former, and the current, mayor of the City of Houston as members.
Art has played a significant role in the revitalization of central Houston, which includes the East End and downtown, starting with the first renovation of the historic Rice Hotel, now a luxury multifamily residence, in the 1990s. He’s also been involved with game-changing civic projects like Discovery Green and Buffalo Bayou Park / The Cistern, all of which have won national awards.
Although Page is an international firm and Art has completed projects across multiple continents, his family history in the East End and passion for his hometown have helped him serve as a valuable resource for urban design and development in Houston.
