Page Project Milestones in 2016

This past year, Pagers have worked on a number of intriguing, beneficial and even life-changing projects and we’re very proud of the contributions these facilities make to their surrounding communities.

One of our most unusual projects is The Cistern, a defunct underground water utility that is now a national visitor destination and accommodates temporary artistic audiovisual installations. Page also worked on the adjacent Buffalo Bayou urban park, which has also won national awards and praise for its positive impact on residents since opening to the public in late 2015.

A project that truly embodies our vision – and our promise – of design that makes lives better is the headquarters for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. We attended the non-profit’s 20^th anniversary gala and the real-time call board registered over 300 calls during the evening, which shows how real the need for help is. Another effort that we were proud to lead is the Healthcare for the Homeless – Houston (HHH) clinic, an award-winning project that was a true community effort. Third-party team members, vendors and local A/E/C industry members donated furnishings, construction materials and services to help HHH realize its mission on a limited budget.

Since joining Page in early 2016, Dyal Branding & Graphics, A Page Company, has completed additional projects such as related brand identities for KUT Radio, an NPR station and its sister music station KUTX. Their formal campus entry to The University of Texas at Austin was completed in time for spring commencement and already has become the prime photography, viewing and meeting spot it was intended to be.

We’re very proud of our Academic team’s Health Learning Building, the first to be activated in Phase One of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas, the first medical school to be built from the ground up at a top tier campus in fifty years. Our master plan for Trinity University is advancing one of the nation’s leading liberal arts and sciences institutions into the future while preserving the character of a campus that was designed mid-century by an iconic architect. And, the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility at the University of Houston is part of a tiered plan to advance the school’s sports program and enhance recruiting efforts for a state Tier One university.

We were privileged to work on some distinctive projects such as the award-winning interior renovation of the historic Esperson Building, repositioning this asset to restore its value potential and former position as a downtown icon. Gearbox Software, an award-winning independent developer of interactive entertainment tasked Page to plan and design a new headquarters as creative as the client’s products are that will help them to remain competitive in a booming industry. 

Several of our luxury housing projects were in the news this year. The Signet, on which Page is serving as architect of record, will raise the bar on condominium living in close proximity to several major job centers such as Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia’s burgeoning Tysons Corner and Arlington County. In Denver, our Joule residential highrise posted a record sales price less than eight months after coming online, a testament to the importance of strategic design on asset value. And, 70 Rainey which will overlook Lady Bird Lake, downtown Austin and the Hill Country beyond, has received media attention for its distinctive twisting base design.
