Page Opens Office in Mexico City

Page Southerland Page, Inc. (Page) has long had a presence in Mexico, providing a range of multidisciplinary design services from architecture to master planning. Their significant work in Mexico City dates back to the design of the U.S. Embassy in 1965. Now, the firm has formally opened an office in Mexico City (CDMX) and is pleased to offer its engineering and consulting services to clients as well.

Firm Formalizes Presence in Country

Page has worked on architecture projects and engineering in more than 50 countries, many remotely located. The firm’s extensive international experience has refined its sensitivity to local cultures and materials as well as regional safety processes and construction methods. Its projects vary in scale, complexity and uses, from corporate office buildings to petrochemical control facilities to university campuses, hotels and high rises as well as healthcare centers and more than 30 embassies and consulates.

Since the 70s, Page has participated on projects throughout Latin America including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Puerto Rico. Collectively, its 500-plus employees speak more than 25 languages, and 20% of them are native Spanish speakers. Most recently, Page has supported projects at recognized institutions such as Universidad de Monterrey and Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara. The firm directed efforts on the Inter-American Hospital for Advanced Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico, one of the first projects in Latin America designed to LEED Certification standards. Page has designed work for Gorgas Institute for Public Health and advised the Minister of Health of Panama in relation to the design of the country’s hospitals, laboratories, and institutions. The firm also led the design for a residential community master plan in Costa Rica. Currently, Page is providing architectural and engineering services as well as landscape design on new consular projects in Guadalajara, Jalisco and Hermosillo, Sonora.

Page’s business development efforts in Latin America are led by José Guillermo Monárrez, Executive Director for Mexico. Jose has a Civil Engineering and Business Management degree from Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Architects Luis Alberto López Chavero and Carolina Valle Rodríguez also will support the firm’s promise to create design that makes lives better. Design Architect Luis Alberto possesses a range of experience in visualization, production, coordination, building information management (BIM) and client management gained from his work on Nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de Mexico, the busiest in Latin America, as well as retail projects on Via Vallejo in Mexico City and soccer stadiums, hotels, offices, industrial offices and master plans.

Design Architect Carolina Valle Rodríguez has previously worked for other large, multidisciplinary design firms similar to Page. She leveraged her Master’s in Sustainability on high-profile projects such as urban office towers designed to achieve LEED certification, an industrial project designed to meet LEED Platinum standards and a 500-key hotel in the Riviera Maya resort district. Carolina also has experience in project architecture, construction documentation and building information modeling (BIM) management.
