Page Multifamily Projects Sweep MHN Awards Category
Two Page designers, Principals Josh Coleman and Talmadge Smith, had a rare chance to celebrate their projects before construction is even completed. Even more rare, both projects received the Gold and Silver Medals in the same category, Unbuilt Highrise. Josh and Talmadge attended the annual Multi-Housing News (MHN) Excellence Awards ceremony in New York to accept the awards on behalf of the project teams. The MHN Excellence Awards are one of the multifamily residential industry’s most prestigious honors.
As design architect, Josh accepted the Gold Medal for 70 Rainey, a 34-story residential tower that provides each of its 164 condos with panoramic views of the Colorado River, the Austin skyline and the Hill Country beyond. Talmadge also serves as design architect, for AMLI Fountain Place, a luxury high-rise residential development adjacent to the iconic Fountain Place tower in Dallas designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.
Ground was broken on 70 Rainey in August of 2016 and construction is expected to be completed in 2019. Other members of the project team include MARKZEFF which provided interior design; the developer Sackman Enterprises and contractor Flintco.
AMLI Fountain Place is expected to break ground in the fall of 2017. Page is serving as design architect, interior architect, interior designer and architect of record. Team members include structural engineers Cardno, civil engineers Walter P. Moore and landscape architects Talley Associates.
This year’s winners were announced - and awarded - by the MHN editors on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. This was the second MHN trip for Talmadge, who previously accepted the Gold Medal Award for Lowrise Developments in 2015 on behalf of the Mueller Multifamily Residences, a five-story, 230,000 square foot LEED Platinum-certified multifamily residential project that was envisioned as a cornerstone of a 700-acre mixed-use live/work/play development.
