Page Acquires SST Planners

Healthcare Design Magazine reports that Page, a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm, has acquired Strategic Science & Technology Planners (SST Planners), a laboratory planning and design firm in Washington, D.C. SST Planners co-founder Chris Cowansage, along with Malena Aquino and David McCullough will join Page as principals. They are bringing their design teams to the Page Washington, D.C., office which is led by Page Senior Principals Thomas McCarthy and James Wright.

This acquisition further strengthens Page’s considerable consulting expertise in laboratory research, programming and commissioning. These laboratory planning experts will continue to support their many architectural and institutional clients with the quality personalized services they have grown to expect and will expand the depth and range of award-winning consulting services available to them.

SST Planners was founded in 1994 and has built an extensive portfolio of laboratory work in the Academic, Government, and Corporate market sectors. Clients include The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Johns Hopkins University, NASA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Janssen Pharmaceutica (part of Johnson & Johnson) and Eli Lilly. SST Planners served as lab consultant on the project team that won a prestigious Renovated Laboratory of the Year award for the University of Connecticut Health Center, Cell and Genome Sciences Building, and were contributing authors to the first edition of the NIH Design Policy and Guidelines for biomedical research facilities.
