New Designs for the Nation’s Capital

The Washington Post asked some local architects how they would design a building to replace the J. Edgar Hoover Building (headquarters for the FBI) if the Heights of Buildings Act of 1910 (which limits the height of buildings to 130 feet) was repealed. As did most of the respondents, Principal James Wright provided a tongue-in-cheek design of a 400-foot-tall headquarters for all the country’s Political Action Committees.

“Situated as it is, almost equidistant from both Congress and the White House — and with respect to the site’s legacy — a take-no-prisoners headquarters for all political action committees!”
