Multifamily Housing Breaks Ground

Presidium Riverside Apartments, a new 352-unit, 345,000-square-foot multifamily development, broke ground last week. Pagers Peter Hoffman and Erin Nash attended the event.

Located along the quickly gentrifying Riverside corridor of Austin, Texas, the project promises to be a catalyst, helping transform a previously single use, low density car dominated area into a 24/7 sustainable, walkable Live-Work-Play district.

The development is sited on a hilltop with spectacular views of the downtown Austin lakefront skyline. It also takes advantage of rapidly multiplying multimodal transportation options including hike and bike trails, public transportation and car share services. The project incorporates green technologies that were vetted through a rigorous Return-on-Investment analysis, including on-site solar generation, high efficiency HVAC systems and passive energy reducing design features.

Designed to appeal to Austin’s tech savvy and environmentally conscious demographic, the project includes cutting edge amenities including an array of informal hospitality oriented co-working spaces that range from quiet indoor areas to social outdoor spaces, blurring the lines and revamping the notion of traditional business centers. Bike storage and repair spaces connected to a central pedestrian/bike paseo enable quick access to the surrounding restaurants and retail as well as the nearby lakefront. A variety of outdoor dining and play areas support the active indoor/outdoor Austin lifestyle.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2019. Page is providing architecture, interiors and civil engineering services.
