How To Create An Award-Winning Design Entry
Several Page principals who have had the opportunity to serve on or attend juried award selection processes from local chapters to national associations have some tips for creating winning submissions. While juror preferences can’t always be predicted, having professional, thoughtful and thorough entries can only help your chances.
Juries often make early, high-level decisions to cull the entries to a manageable number, then debate the details and individual merits of the remaining projects. Your submission needs to hold up to both a quick scan and an intense scrutiny.
And remember, if your terrific, community-changing project has yet to win – don’t take it too hard. At the end of the day, an award hinges on the rather subjective opinion of two or three people.
