Future of Downtown: Part 2

Bisnow Houston will be hosting its Future of Downtown event on Wednesday, August 27 and features Page's transformation of the interior public spaces of the Niels Esperson office building in its August 21 newsletter. While new buildings in downtown Houston have been getting a lot of attention recently, many older buildings are being repositioned to attract new tenants. In addition to Esperson, Page has been involved in a number of those downtown renovations, including The Rice, 1100 Louisiana, 919 Milam and Two Shell Plaza.

The project scope of the Esperson Building (built in 1927) involves the renovation and revitalization of the first floor, tunnel levels and typical tenant floors. The redesign of the first floor provides a new lobby with tenant spaces that surrounds a newly installed escalator. Work on the tunnel level includes a new food court with four restaurant locations. An exterior public entrance to the lobby has been added on Rusk Street, adjacent to a new light rail line.
