Design Excellence

Two Page projects, Ottobock and Magnolia Montessori For All, have been honored with 2019 AIA Austin Design Awards.

Ottobock is the North American Headquarters of a global prosthetic and mobility device manufacturer. The brand’s aesthetic of clean lines and organic curves was carried into the workplace as were goals emphasizing employee wellness and universal accessibility. “It’s sculptural; it’s precise; it’s anthropomorphic,” notes lead designer and Page Principal Wendy Dunnam Tita.  

Inspired by the northern European fishing villages, the Magnolia Montessori For All campus is comprised of fifteen residential-scaled buildings situated around landscaped courtyards and immersed in nature. The school has introduced a transformative education model in an underserved and lower income neighborhood in East Austin. The design supports the Montessori mission for child-centered education focused on fostering independence. 

The 2019 AIA Austin Design Awards jury included Kevin Kudo-King, AIA, of Olson Kundig in Seattle; Aric Lasher, FAIA, of Chicago’s HBRA Architects; Julie Smith-Clementi, AIA, from Rios Clementi Hale Studios in Los Angeles and finally Allison Williams, FAIA, of AGWms studio in San Francisco.
