City of Buda Municipal Complex Breaks Ground
The new City of Buda Municipal Complex broke ground last week. It was a clear summer morning and the event hosted representatives of the City of Buda Government, civic leaders and community activists. City Manager Kenneth Williams celebrated the important occasion noting the many benefits the new Page-designed complex will bring to the community. Page Principal Jonathan Sylvie and Page Senior Associate and Project Manager Ginny Chilton attended the ceremony.
The City of Buda Municipal Complex will be located on Main Street east of downtown. Two new buildings are planned for the site–a City Hall and Library Building as well as a Public Safety Building. Situated adjacent to Stagecoach Park, the nine-acre site has a heritage of longhorn ranching, giant oak trees and wildflowers. The buildings are sited to preserve several heritage oak trees and provide a natural landscape responsive to the occasional movement of stormwater through the site. The designs convey a sense of transparency, encouraging residents to observe, participate and engage in the processes that shape their evolving city.
